CLOS THIERRIERE

After studying at a business school, Guillaume and Baptiste Frey soon realize that office life is not for them and decide to return to Touraine, the land of their childhood. Wine lovers and nature lovers, they decided to take over a winery to create a new estate where they let nature do its work by accompanying it.

Since 2021, any use of herbicides and pesticides has been banned, with the aim of restoring greater soil vitality and biodiversity in vineyards. Grapes harvested by hand in small 10 kg casks, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts.
The soil is mainly clayey-calcareous and clayey-siliceous, with silicon layers in some places. These different rocks give the wines additional complexity, with a minerality and a specific tension of this name. It is precisely because of these differences that each individual plot is vinified separately in order to enhance every single characteristic of that specific soil.

This specific terroir of Vouvray has a profound impact on the wines of the appellation and constitutes an exceptional resource in the production of authentic and unique AOC Vouvray wines.
