Catharina, a new star in Burgundy! Yet, at first she didn’t even intend to become a wine grower. Catharina became a wine lover by studying gastronomy and working in restaurants in her native Dresden. He then decided to do an internship at Schafer-Frohlich and then Domaine Chevrot in Burgundy: here he understood that this land would soon become his home.
After graduating with a degree in viticulture, she returned to Burgundy and began to put together a curriculum that would make any aspiring winemaker green of envy. He worked at the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Drouhin, de Vogüé and Marquis D’Angerville. All these Domaine were pioneers of biodynamic farming and Catharina was convinced that this was the way to work in order to do really well.
Her most recent job was working alongside Cecile Tremblay, another extraordinary talent, and while she did so she was offered a small plot of land: so with her husband Guilhelm they decided to start their project. Catharina’s approach, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, is as natural as possible: copper and sulphur are used in minimal quantities while in the cellar only spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts is used. The wines are pure, alive and vibrant. Very few bottles, only on assignment.
